Located on the slopes of Mount Lempuyang in East Bali, it is one of Bali’s six principal Sad Kahyangan temples, places of spiritual importance to the island.

Tirta Gangga is a historic water garden in Karangasem, built in 1948 by the last King of Karangasem, Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem. Its name means “water of the Ganges,” reflecting the sacred significance of water in Hindu tradition.
Highlights: elegant tiered fountains, ornamental ponds, stone stepping paths across the water, statues inspired by Hindu epics, and colorful koi fish. Visitors can stroll through the landscaped gardens, take photographs and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. Some pools may be available for swimming, subject to local rules.
Pura Goa Lawah is a revered Hindu temple on Bali’s southeast coast. Local historical accounts, including the Usana Bali and Babad Pasek manuscripts, associate its establishment with Mpu Kuturan around the 11th century (929 Saka). The temple is an important place of worship and is closely connected with Balinese religious traditions.
Highlights: the sacred cave at the heart of the site, where large numbers of bats roost; traditional shrines and stone architecture; and the distinctive setting near the coast. The cave’s living bats make this temple especially unusual and memorable.
Goa Lawah remains an active place of worship. Visitors should wear appropriate clothing, respect ceremonies and avoid disturbing the animals.
